Natray Consulting Group

Advisory

Informing the decisions that commit the company.

Our Advisory department works on organisation, performance management and financial structuring. It supports management on the judgements whose effects are measured in years, not quarters.

Where we stand

Advice requires knowing the numbers.

An organisational consultant who cannot read a balance sheet proposes elegant solutions that cannot be applied. Our work always starts from the company's actual accounting and financial substance: what it produces, what it costs, what it funds and what it risks.

The department works directly alongside accountancy and audit. That proximity shortens the familiarisation phase and spares management from explaining the same file to each new adviser.

Our services

Four areas of work.

Internal control

Organisation and risk control

Writing down what works, correcting what no longer does, and making the organisation independent of the individuals who carry it.

  • Modelling of processes and operating procedures
  • Drafting of procedure manuals
  • Risk mapping and control frameworks
  • Review of the accounting and financial information system
  • Segregation of duties and delegations of authority
Finance function

Outsourced finance function

Access to a structured finance function without carrying its permanent cost, while it is being built or handed over.

  • Taking charge of the finance and administration function
  • Implementation of management reporting
  • Structuring of the internal accounting team
  • Support for a newly appointed finance director
  • Management of transition periods
Funding

Treasury and funding

Anticipating pressure rather than absorbing it, and presenting a file a banker can actually assess.

  • Optimisation of treasury management
  • Funding plan and working capital requirement
  • Preparation and defence of the banking file
  • Negotiation and monitoring of covenants
  • Sourcing funding suited to the operating cycle
Growth

Development projects

Costing a project before committing to it, and structuring the transaction so that it holds over time.

  • Business plan and executive summary
  • Financial modelling and sensitivity testing
  • Structuring of an external growth transaction
  • Support for opening up the share capital
  • Governance and shareholders' agreements

Situations we handle

When advice becomes necessary.

An advisory engagement rarely answers intellectual curiosity. It answers an identifiable situation, one management has usually sensed before being able to name it.

  • Growth the organisation can no longer keep up with
  • An investor coming into the share capital
  • The departure or replacement of the finance director
  • Cash pressure that keeps recurring
  • An acquisition or disposal project
  • Putting formal governance in place
  • An inability to produce reliable reporting on time

How it runs

From diagnosis to implementation.

01

Diagnosis

Interviews with management and the relevant managers, documentary analysis and examination of the figures. A shared assessment is presented before any recommendation.

02

Recommendations

Proposals ranked by impact and by the implementation effort they require. Each recommendation is costed.

03

Implementation

Operational support on the workstreams selected, with a timetable, named owners and regular progress reviews.

04

Follow-up

A review some months after the engagement, to confirm that what was put in place has held in practice and to clear any remaining obstacles.
